The IceBreakers of Syosset, NY are pleased to announce their upcoming clinics and tryouts for the 2010-2011 season!

We will be hosting three weeks of clinics and a tryout weekend.
The first clinic will be on May 22 from 1-6 pm where we will be hosting Skyliner's coach Josh Babb. Skaters will work on edges, footwork, formations, etc. The cost for the day is $100 and includes a snack.

Memorial Day weekend, Elizabeth Lerner, one of the IceBreakers coaches, former member of the SUNY Oswego synchronized skating team, and five time gold medalist in Moves, Freestyle, and American, Canadian and International Dance, will be joining us. She was a great help to us last season, and we look forward to working with her again this year.

The next weekend, the head coach from the University of Michigan synchronized skating team who will act as the IceBreakers's choreographer this season will be with us to host a skating clinic. There will also be a parent meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the 2010-2011 season. And the following weekend we will be holding our tryouts. Tryout weekend will include a clinic on saturday to learn footwork and the official tryout will be on sunday, 6/12.

The times of these events are still tentative, but will be posted soon. For any more information about the IceBreakers or any questions you may have, please visit http://icebreakerssynchro.com/default.asp or e-mail Megan Romeo at PublicRelations@icebreakerssynchro.com

HAYDEN OPENS ADDITIONAL SLOTS FOR SUMMER CAMP

2010 Hayden Synchro Summer Experience
July 18th - July 22nd

About the Camp
The 2010 Hayden Synchro Summer Experience will be the fourth Synchro Summer program run the Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams. Registration is opened to all skaters from Pre-Preliminary and up. The members of our highly qualified Coaching staff led by Saga Krantz, skater from the Haydenettes and other teams and guest coaches will lead the skaters through a series of on-ice and off-ice sessions designed to promote technical skating skills, techniques, skating presentation and team development. And of course…have lots of fun !
Location of the Camp
Our summer program will be held at the beautiful campus of Cushing Academy, in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, just 60 miles from downtown Boston (www.cushing.org). The Iorio Arena will be used for all on-ice activities. Off-ice activities will occur at different locations throughout the campus.
The On-Ice Program
Each skater will participate in multiple, daily sessions of on-ice instructions per day. Individual skills, team skills and synchronized skating skills will be covered. A major emphasis will be placed on footwork, edge quality, speed, power, development of synchro formations, and transitions. Audience appeal, presentation and expression will also be demonstrated, discussed and practiced. At the conclusion of the week, each team will be able to showcase the program they developed during the week at an exhibition to be held on Thursday. Each team’s leaders will assist in the program theme development including use of Hayden’s performance dresses and make-up for the Exhibition.
The Off-Ice Program
` Hayden’s Fitness and training professionals will join our skating coaching staff to develop a series of off-ice programs designed to promote strength, flexibility and core conditioning through age-appropriate sessions. Additional aerobic sessions in hip-hop, pilates, and yoga will be provided.
Group/Team Placement
Individual applicants will be placed on a team of approximately 20-25 skaters according to age and USFS test levels. Team entries are accepted but we can not promise that skaters will be with their home teammates. Team assignments are at the sole discretion of HSST
Coaches Attendance
Non-Hayden Coaches who have more than 10 skaters attending are encouraged to attend with their skaters to learn more about the Hayden style, coaching methods and synchro skating techniques from out coaches.
Transportation
Transportation to and from the site of the Summer Experience is the responsibility of each skater/parent. Daily
transportation to and from the program’s hotel will be provided by HSST. Air transportation is convenient from
either Boston or Providence. Airport transfer can be arranged directly through Knight Transportation at
800-822-5456

Representing The Skating Club of Boston

Team Excel announces Open Collegiate tryout dates for

2010-2011 skating season

Go to any school you want, and continue
the sport you love with an intercollegiate
synchronized skating team.

The Skating Club of Boston and Team Excel are pleased to announce the Team Excel Collegiate Scholarship and Tryouts for the upcoming season! The Team Excel Collegiate Scholarship will enable our collegiate and open collegiate lines to be FULLY FUNDED for the 2010-2011 season.

The Team Excel Collegiate Scholarship was created to assist athletes in financing a competitive synchronized skating career at one of the premier figure skating clubs in the country while they attend college. The Scholarship provides funds to qualified skaters for ice and coaching fees, clothing, and travel. Skaters are required to make an initial deposit which is refundable upon the completion of their full commitment to the team. The Scholarship makes it possible for the team to train as if they were at a large university, but athletes have the ability to attend any of the many New England area colleges or universities that suit their academic needs.

Tryouts:
Sunday September 12, 2010: 7:30 pm – 10:20 pm.

The tryout session will be held at:
The New England Sports Center
121 Donald Lynch Boulevard
Marlborough, MA 01752

For general information, please follow Team Excel Synchronized Skating on Facebook or visit our website at www.ExcelSynchro.org. Questions and requests for tryout registration can be addressed to excelcollegiate@gmail.com. Download the registration form to bring with you.

The mission of Team Excel is to promote synchronized skating and prepare synchronized skating teams for national and international competition, encourage teamwork and sportsmanship and support individual skaters as they seek to attain their unique potential, and teams as they seek to achieve their full potential as a team.
